Help Us Give Our Girls a Safe Home While We Care for Grandma ❤️
The story behind the fundraiser
❤️ Sometimes doing what's right for your family means making sacrifices you never imagined. And sometimes, even when you're doing everything you can, you find yourself needing a little help. ❤️ I'm sharing something very personal today, and honestly, asking for help isn't easy. But when it comes to my family, especially my children, I'm willing to put my pride aside. At the end of December 2025, my husband and I packed up our lives in Georgia and moved our three beautiful daughters back to Florida so I could help my father care for my mother, who was diagnosed with dementia in January. We have 12-year-old twins who both have autism and a little girl who just celebrated her second birthday. My husband is also a military veteran who struggles with PTSD. Right now, our family of five is living together in an upstairs loft in my parents' home. While we're incredibly grateful to have a roof over our heads, our current living situation has become increasingly difficult for everyone. One of our autistic twins struggles significantly with sensory overload and desperately needs a quiet space where she can decompress and feel safe. With five of us sharing one open space, that's nearly impossible. My husband, who has already sacrificed so much through his military service, also deserves a peaceful environment as he navigates life with PTSD. And when our daughters experience meltdowns, the noise and distress can be especially upsetting for my mother because of her dementia. 💔 My daughters cannot control how their brains process the world. My husband didn't choose to live with PTSD. And my mother cannot control what dementia is doing to hers. Nobody is doing anything wrong. Everyone simply has different needs, and we're trying our hardest to meet them all. As a mother, it breaks my heart knowing my girls need more than I can currently provide. As a wife, I want my husband to have a place where he can find peace. And as a daughter, I want to continue being there for my parents when they need me most. 🏡 That's why we've started a GoFundMe to raise $20,000 toward purchasing a used camper that we can turn into a home for our family. We're not asking for anything fancy, brand-new, or luxurious. We're simply hoping for a safe, dependable camper large enough for our family of five, with enough space to give our daughters some privacy. Our dream is to place it on my parents' property, provided local requirements allow it, so we can have our own living space while I remain close enough to continue helping care for my mother. Unfortunately, we live on a very fixed income, and purchasing a camper without help simply isn't possible for us. 🙏 We're also hoping this post might reach an RV dealership, business owner, or individual who has a suitable used camper they would consider donating. Something that may no longer be needed by someone else could completely change our family's lives. A camper would mean: ❤️ A quieter, sensory-friendly environment for our autistic twins. ❤️ A comfortable place for our 2-year-old to grow and play. ❤️ A more peaceful and private home for my husband as he lives with PTSD. ❤️ A calmer environment for my mother as she battles dementia. ❤️ The ability to continue caring for my parents without sacrificing my children's well-being. I don't want to have to choose between being the daughter my mother needs, the wife my husband deserves, and the mother my children need. We moved back to Florida because family comes first. Now we're simply asking for a little help so we can continue putting family first without anyone's needs being left behind. If you're able to donate, whether it's $5, $10, or any amount, we would be forever grateful. And if you can't donate, PLEASE consider sharing this post! ❤️ You never know who might see it. One share could reach an RV dealership, a veteran-support organization, or someone with a camper they would be willing to donate. We aren't asking for a mansion or a perfect life. We're just asking for a safe place where our girls can thrive, my husband can find peace, and my mother can have the comfort she deserves. 🙏 Our GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/3104de501 From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, donating, or simply keeping our family in your thoughts. We're not asking for the world. We're just asking for enough room in it for everyone we love. ❤️ #GoFundMe #VeteranFamily #SupportOurVeterans #AutismAwareness #AutismFamily #DementiaAwareness #FamilyHelpingFamily #CamperDonation #RVDonation #SouthwestFlorida #FloridaCommunity #HelpOurFamily
